New York Public Radio Statement on the Passing of Billie Tisch

New York Public Radio joins family and friends in mourning the loss and celebrating the life of Billie Tisch.

“Billie Tisch’s passion for truth in journalism, her love of the city, and its rich culture was a key to the development of our vision,” shared Board Chair John Rose. “Her empathy, soft-handed but powerful leadership style, and genuine caring for people were key to the development of our values. She was the heart of WNYC, one of our first leaders as a non-profit, and a founder of the modern NYPR.”
