WQXR Presents Classical Kids Fair at the Queens Theatre

A free family event celebrating classical music with live performances, musical workshops, and hands-on arts and crafts

(New York, NY – October 20, 2025) – On Sunday, November 9, New York’s classical music station WQXR (105.9 FM and wqxr.org) returns to the Queens Theatre for the Classical Kids Fair, a beloved family-friendly event that provides a free and fun way to introduce children ages 4-10 to classical music through engaging live performances, workshops, arts and crafts, and other hands-on experiences.
The Queens edition of the Classical Kids Fair will feature performances by Musiquita, the Louis Armstrong House Museum All-Stars, Brownstone Brass, and the Alegría Ensemble. The fair will also include an instrument discovery zone, where kids can try different musical instruments and demonstrations of Chinese instruments led by Music from China. Queens Theatre teaching artists Lorena Marin Ortiz and Brian Feinstein will lead dance and songwriting workshops. Families will also be able to take part in musical arts and crafts activities.
The fair will take place from 12-4 PM. Admission is free, though reservations are encouraged.
These fairs exemplify the mission of WQXR, bringing the best of New York City’s extensive classical music scene to as many people as possible and inspiring the next generation of music lovers.
