Emily Nadal Joins the WNYC Newsroom as a Digital Producer

Read more in this note from Brooks Brunson, Audience Editor

Emily Nadal has joined the WNYC newsroom as its newest digital producer.

Emily has served in the role in a temporary capacity since May. She helped launch Gothamist’s morning newsletter, delivering subscribers essential local news and features with authority, wit and brevity. She also blended visual and audio storytelling to create engaging content for WNYC’s growing off-platform audiences.

A native New Yorker, Emily’s journalism career actually started at WNYC in 2019, when she worked as an intern for Death, Sex and Money. She had put her first career as a national park ranger on hold to take the internship, which inspired her to enroll in journalism graduate school. A self-described “radio aficionado,” she focused on audio storytelling at CUNY’s  Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism.

After graduating, Emily worked at 1010 WINS as a digital content producer, building the station’s digital presence and writing stories. She also freelanced for several outlets, including Bklyner and Manhattan Times.

When she’s not wrapped up in the news of the day, Emily enjoys cycling around the city or putting those park ranger skills to use on a hike.

Mission

To make the mind more curious, the heart more open and the spirit more joyful through excellent audio programming that is deeply rooted in New York.
